Happy New Year, Witches! ☽𖤐☾

Of all the sabbats (Solstices, Equinoxes and Cross Quarter Days) that make up the revolution of the Celtic Wheel, Samhain (pronounced Sow-een) is the one that most of us are familiar with. For Samhain is the roots of our modern Halloween. It is the ancient soul of the plastic pumpkins, spiders and bats that line the shelves of every 21st century store.

This year Samhain arrives at the tail end of a powerful eclipse portal. Stand still and you can taste the electricity on your lips. The air is thick with palpable energy that makes your hairs stand on end. There is no more potent time to let go. To welcome death, to let decay in with a warm embrace and invite it to go to work on the patriarchal conditioning that taught you witches were evil. That shamed you into dimming your light, taming your wild and hiding your power so deep, you forgot it ever existed. Let decay eat away your mask, let your amour crumble and shed the safe skin that you have been programmed to present to the world. Let death get it’s claws in your fear, the fear of your own savage nature, the fear of the witch within.

The naked vulnerability of what remains is your true essence, the seed of your raw power and the potential of all you will become. Take a deep breath, believe in yourself and allow your magick to awaken and unfurl.

Fly free, my pretties… Samhain Blessings to you all.
